Bespoke bedroom: Design it!

Every bedroom is individually styled to suit your taste and made to measure, whether that be classical, traditional or contemporary. Style is so personal. That is why our massive range of door styles will cater to every taste.

From traditional shaker style to glossy clean lines in a seemingly endless range of colours from classic white or alabaster to Dark Walnut or Pippy Oak, we are confident that we can do whatever you desire.

We can incorporate mirrors or frosted, clear or coloured glass. Or maybe you would like a door with clean lines such as our Milan styling which incorporates a recess on the edge of the door allowing you to open it without the need for conventional handles or knobs.

The internal layout is designed to maximise your space. Choose single or double built in wardrobes with your choice of long and short hanging or shelves.

Your fitted bedroom furniture installation

Behind the door of every GPM Designs creation is a strong and durable 18mm full carcass with sides, tops, bottoms and backs. The hinges have a soft closing mechanism giving that touch of quality and class and the units are finished complete with plinth and infills scribed to walls and ceiling and cornice where required.

The installation is carried out by our own expert craftsmen. We do not use subcontractors. We can integrate drawers or shoe rails, internal mirrors and tie racks as desired. Double hanging can sometimes be a bit of a stretch so if required we can install pull down rails for easier access to your clothes.

Complete your fitted bedroom with made to measure fitted drawer chests, cupboards, dressing table, mirrors and stools, bedside cabinets, and headboards. We can make the stools using your own fabrics or fabrics supplied by us. The stool frame and legs will also match the colour of your furniture.

Fitted wardrobes options

Corners and end of run wardrobes

You can opt for a 45 degree angled corner unit giving easy access to awkward corners. The corner door is at 45 degrees to the other doors in the run. This is often an option with an L shaped wardrobe running along 2 walls..

To break up the flat end on the end of a wardrobe run, you can opt for an angled end wardrobe design. This is a 45 degree door at the end of a run of wardrobes with 45 degree shelves behind.

This is a useful feature where an end panel is close to a room entrance. In these cases, an angled end wardrobe can completely alter the dynamics of the room, opening it up and giving the impression of more space.

Lighting designed around your room

GPM Designs work in conjunction with a fully certified electrician who can provide all your requirements for lighting in our units or other work such as re-positioning sockets or light switches as required.

Frequently asked questions

How much do fitted wardrobes cost?

Our fitted bedrooms are bespoke, so it’s best to get a quote, however our service could cost anything from £380 including VAT and fitting for a single door fitted wardrobe to £2600 for a full wall 6 door awkward space wardrobe with angled ceilings.

Does fitted furniture add value to your house?

Maximising storage space can help to add value to your house and fitted furniture is a common way to do this.

Unlike freestanding furniture, our fitted wardrobes are generally fitted from floor to ceiling, which will allow you to accommodate things like double hanging (2 hanging rails, one above the other), thus maximising your available storage space. For pictures of our internal storage layouts, please see our internal storage solutions page.

What types of fitted furniture do you offer?

We manufacture and fit all kinds of different types of units and accessories, including fitted wardrobes, corner wardrobes, office units, lounge units, straight desks and corner desks. All our doors and drawers are fitted with soft close mechanisms.

We have a range of Free Standing Furniture, including all kinds of drawer units, wall cupboards and base cupboards, all kinds of shelving units, radius end shelves, radius end doors, alcove units, laundry units, shoe racks, pull down hanging rails, mirrors and mirrored doors, handles, lighting, and just about any other conceivable type of units or accessories you can imagine.

Can I have fitted furniture with awkward shaped room?

We cater for angled ceilings or any conceivable room shape. For more information, please see our awkward spaces page.

Additionally, all our doors, drawers and carcasses can be made to any size, so they are specifically made to fit your room space, keeping infill panels to a minimum size, allowing you to maximise your storage space.

Do fitted wardrobes cause damp?

Generally speaking, if you already have a damp problem, it is not a good idea to install a fitted wardrobe along that wall unless the problem has been resolved by a specialist. Dampness generally only occurs on external walls, so there should not be any problem with wardrobes installed on internal walls in the building. If you are not already experiencing damp problems with an external wall, then fitting wardrobes along it is highly unlikely to cause a problem in our experience.
